iPhone 4 antenna reception problem

July 17th, 2010

iPhone 4

Apple is trying to protect their profit by not taking full responsibility for their defected product namely, iPhone 4.

In the case of BP oil spill, they first tried to cover up the issue; however, when the spill gets to worsen and out of control, BP has to pay their fortune for their irresponsibility.

Another similar case is the car company Toyota and some other automobile manufacturers. They know their pedal problem; Instead of taking responsibility to recall the vehicles to rectify their mistake, they chose to protect their profit by leaving the millions of life in danger by driving the defected vehicles on the road.

My advice to Apple is to find a complete solution for the IPhone 4 antenna problem and offer the solution free of charge to the people who already bought the defected iPhone 4. Give the full refunds for those consumers who wish to return the product. If Apple cannot prove to their supporters that they are a responsible company, they will lose most of their supporters in the future. Apple fans will not jump in to purchase new product from Apple again, instead they will wait for months to make sure the products are working perfectly before they make up their decision to buy.

PROFIT IS IMPROTANT FOR ALL COMPANY, BUT SOMETIME IT IS NOT THE PROFIT THAT COUNTS, IT IS HOW LONG THE COMPANY WILL STAY IN THE FUTURE.

Apple iPad set a new standard

June 17th, 2010

As expected, Apple's innovative products always surprise the market. Apple has sold two millions iPad in two months. Products that are similar to iPad are exists in the market long before Apple iPad, however they are not be able to create an impact as what Apple does to the consumer.

Apple iPad is simply a basic device that lacks of flexibility. With today's advance technology, products like ebook reading device must build in with the power of basic computer capability. Basic features like multi-tasking, flash support must be build into the device and able to install and run simple applications. Gaming capability can be put aside for these kind of devices because such function does not serve an important role in these type of device. Moreover, connectivity like Wifi, Ethernet port and USB port is a must. Webcam is another added advantage for people on the move to share pictures and videos. All these features add very little cost to the production, but Apple chose not to have these basic features in iPad.

Apple's sales of two million iPad in two-months sores the eyes of his competitors. The lack of the feature from iPad will be the targeted huge market for better featured eBook reading device from other manufacturers.

The success of Apple iPad will trigger Apple's competitors to come up with a better, cheaper and more powerful product in short time. These devices will sell better than any notebooks as most people on the move won't need a powerful notebook computer. In a nutshell, what they need is a device that is light weight with a battery that can last for a long hour of usage, take less time to charge, and build in with touch screen feature, Wifi, Ethernet port, USB port and the capability to be able to read ebooks, run simple applications and multi-tasking.

Better touch screen technology (hardware and software) will be the next main concern for these devices.

SanDisk G3 Solid State Drive

March 19th, 2010

SanDisk G3 SSD

Imaging that we will be having a hard drive with no moving parts inside. A hard drive that last longer, consume less power and five time the reading transfer rate of a 7,200 RPM hard drive. SSDs are exceptionally rugged, durable, and reliable and deliver a faster computing experience.

SanDisk begins shipping its 60GB and 120GB Solid State drive (SSD) to retail in February 2010.The 2.5 inch SATA drives are working with Windows, Linux and Mac OS X sytems. SATA 60GB is priced at $230 and 120GB is at $400.

I foresee other manufacturers of hard drive will rush into the production of their own SSD. Present HDD with motor will be faced out once the price drop with mass production. As there are no mechanical parts to be assemble during the manufacture process of SSD. It is more cost effective to produce a SSD than to produce a HDD.
